Recruiter Managing This Role

Top 40 national law firm has an opportunity for a Property Litigation Solicitor to join their team in Manchester. 

The Property Litigation team acts for public and private sector landlords, tenants and real estate developers, and the client base includes local authorities, NHS Trusts, housing associations, social landlords, blue chip retailers and owner managed businesses. 

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Manage own caseload of predominantly housing management /anti-social behaviour work.
  • Caseload may also include residential cases such as possessions, rent recovery etc. for both housing association and other residential landlords.
  • Assist other case handlers with their caseloads.
  • Support and develop more junior members of the team.
  • Assist with business development and profile raising initiatives including networking events.
  • Complete MI procedures as required.
  • Achieve set targets/KPIs.
  • Ensure relevant deadlines, compliance and quality measures are adhered to.
  • Comply with relevant Weightmans and client policies and procedures.
  • Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values.

About You:

  • Property Litigation Solicitor with experience in housing management.
  • High level of commercial awareness with strong attention to detail and good drafting skills
    excellent communication and listening skills.

  • Conscientious, self-motivated, hard-working, and responsive.
  • Critical thinking abilities and excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team within the commercial team supporting more senior and junior staff and across the wider firm on larger projects.
  • Aptitude to work to strict deadlines and client protocols while maintaining high standards.
  • Appreciation and a focus on the need for work to be delivered in a profitable way.
  • Willingness to learn new areas (even if currently not skilled in a particular area) including competition law, energy contracts and public projects work.
