Different by Design

Welcome to Heat. We’re a specialist recruitment agency that’s different by design, operating within the Digital & Technology, Engineering, Financial Services, Insurance, Legal and HR sectors.

Our business is built on our core values and beliefs and a shared mission to improve people’s lives through work, and we have worked hard to build a collaborative culture where everyone feels empowered to become the best version of themselves.

Our Strategic Pillars

Our pillars are at the heart of everything we do at Heat, and they have an impact on the whole business. The pillars were devised through internal discussions around where we want to be as a business, defining not just what we want our successes to be, but how we want to be successful. This discussion allowed everyone in the business to define how we wanted to set ourselves apart and make a difference within our industry.

These were then refined in order to ensure that what we are aiming to achieve and our ambitions as a business were in line with our core beliefs and values. Now, the pillars serve as a reminder of what we want to stand for and they keep us rounded, so that everyone can keep what our intentions as a business are in sight. Keeping these pillars evenly balanced is the key to achieving this.

  • Culture

Development of a values driven culture, underpinned by core behaviours that drive sustainable high performance.

  • Experience

Drive candidate and client loyalty and key account growth through exceptional service levels and results.

  • Development

A robust talent acquisition and management process designed to attract, retain and develop a diverse range of people who are clearly aligned to the business values.

  • Innovation

Seek out, invest in and adopt innovative, market leading technologies that enhance the service offering to our customers, improve operational efficiency and enhance our capability to deliver on the overall business strategy.

Inside Heat

When we think of how the world of recruitment looks now as opposed to 20, 10 or even 5 years ago, it’s tempting to marvel at how far we’ve come, and it’s true that the landscape of the industry has changed significantly with the times.

We’re excited to announce our Heat Heroes for April 2022, as voted by their colleagues here at Heat: these are individuals who have gone above and beyond to improve life at Heat and have demonstrated our core values in their interactions and work with colleagues, candidates, and clients.

It is no secret that Heat comes from humble beginnings: born originally in Managing Director Steve Preston’s spare bedroom, the start-up then expanded to include 6 recruiters and migrated into a log cabin in Steve’s Garden.

Our Story

From extremely humble beginnings as a startup of 5 employees based in our CEO Steve’s garden shed, Heat has grown and evolved hugely over the years. We’ve managed to retain our values as we’ve scaled as a business, and it is the retention of this core shared mission that has made Heat the business it is today. Right now, we’re at a pivotal and exciting point in the business’ history: with ambitious projects in the pipeline, we are hitting new heights of success and expanding exponentially.
