Financial Planning Assistant – Central London – up to £38K DOE

The company
I’m working with an IFA firm who are based in Central London. They provide independent financial advice and manage investment services for High-Net-Worth individuals and their families.

The role
You would be providing full administrative support to two Advisers and a Senior Associate with a rapidly growing book of clients, with a focus on efficiency, professionalism, quality, and accuracy. This is an office-based role due to the nature of being a client-facing business and to help with your training and progression. You will gain experience in complicated financial planning solutions and investment selection/portfolio management and research. There is scope to advance into either a paraplanning role or to become an adviser with a client book provided in the long term.

Your duties would include:

  • Acting as a point of contact for clients and providers.
  • Preparing portfolio valuations/reviews and packs for client reviews and meetings.
  • Scheduling and managing client meetings.
  • Collating suitability report packs and ensuring all regulatory and internal firm requirements are met.
  • Prompt and compliant submission of new business.
  • Managing pipeline business.
  • Maintaining new business and existing records on the firm’s back-office system (Intelliflo Office).
  • Screening and dealing with the adviser’s email, post, and calls where appropriate.
  • Ad-hoc tasks and projects for the wider team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience in liaising with product/investment providers and platforms.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also to work unsupervised with a high level of self-motivation.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • IT skills including MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams) and the ability to pick up new software/programs quickly.

Desirable:

  • Experience with the Transact and AJ Bell platform.
  • Good knowledge and recent experience with the Intelliflo (IO) back-office system.
  • Relevant exam experience; R01 through R06.
