A well-backed and independent financial services group is seeking a self-sufficient and entrepreneurial Managing Director to take full ownership of a respected financial advice business in Herefordshire. This is a solo role, ideal for someone comfortable working independently while being fully supported by a professional network that handles compliance, back office, and operational infrastructure. You will inherit a loyal client bank of ~140 clients (c.£45m AUA) from day one, with no immediate expectation to bring in new clients—allowing you to focus first on building trust and delivering outstanding advice.
The Opportunity

Lead the firm and manage all day-to-day operations, client relationships, and business strategy.

Deliver high-quality, compliant advice to a mature, decumulation-heavy client base.

Drive operational improvements and explore growth opportunities at your own pace.

Operate with full back-office and regulatory support from the owning network.

Influence the commercial model—adjusting the fee structure could generate £350K+ in additional revenue.

Significant potential to earn equity in the business and be part of a larger wealth platform’s growth strategy.
Ideal Candidate

Chartered Financial Planner (or close to achieving), CAS and SPS qualified.

Proven track record of regulated advice and managing a client bank independently.

Experience running or growing an IFA business is advantageous.

Confident, self-driven, and passionate about long-term client relationships.

Ideally available to start within 1–2 months is advantageous (not essential)
