Compliance Manager
Location: Barnsley (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £70,000
Holiday: Up to 35 days annual leave
We’re representing a forward-thinking, mid-sized financial services firm based in Barnsley that’s actively seeking a driven Compliance Manager to take ownership of its regulatory and risk framework. The Role:
You’ll be the go-to authority on compliance, overseeing both advisory and monitoring activities. You’ll ensure alignment with FCA expectations, provide senior management with actionable guidance, and work closely with operations and advice functions to keep everything tight, clean, and audit-ready.

Direct involvement with SMF 16 and 17 duties (ideal but not essential)
Ideal Candidate:

Experienced Compliance Manager in financial planning, wealth, or IFA environment

Strong working knowledge of FCA rules (COBS, SYSC, etc.)

Familiarity with SMCR, ideally with SMF 16 and 17 exposure

Comfortable leading internal reviews, audits, file checks, and regulator engagement

Proactive, commercial mindset with the confidence to challenge where necessary
