Role: Assistant Engineer

Pay Rate: £270 per day via Umbrella
Minimum requirement:
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in relevant engineering discipline (civil or structural engineering)
- Rail experience is a bonus
Summary of role:
- Assist with the inspection and assessment of engineering assets in compliance with Railway Group and Network Rail company standards and procedures.
- Assist in the monitoring of trends of maintenance work undertaken, asset condition, asset failure and failure precursors to allow appropriate action to be specified.
- Assist in the evaluation of the output from inspections, examinations and assessments of asset condition to enable renewal/repair proposals to be formulated.
- Provide technical support in delivering Network Rail’s goals with respect to activities.
- Prepare regular reports of progress on training and professional development for review by mentors, supervising engineers and other relevant persons.
