Heat’s Rising Star wins top business accolade

by Heat Recruitment

It’s been a great year so far for the team at Heat Recruitment, and for one person in particular it has been rather spectacular. James Ackland, Operations Manager, was recognised as the Rising Star at the 2017 Business Leader Awards this month.

The Awards recognise the companies who have enjoyed significant success over the last 12 months and those individuals that have made the greatest contribution to their organisations and the wider regional economy.

Hailed as one of the South West’s foremost business events, the winners were revealed at a lavish ceremony hold at Ashton Gate Stadium that was attended by around 600 business people, and hosted by the BBC’s Jeremy Vine.

This year saw over 200 entries across 15 categories, making this one of the most closely fought and competitive awards and we are thrilled that James scooped the award for Rising Star.

To be considered, James was benchmarked against stringent criteria where he had to demonstrate enterprise, innovation, and entrepreneurial flair and show evidence of:

  • Launching or running a business with a proven record of growth, employment and financial success; or
  • A manager or professional with significant responsibility and measurable contribution to business growth; financial performance or the business community in the South West
  • Strong leadership and vision
  • A clear understanding of business and financial planning
  • Evidence of contribution to the community and business in the region

Steve Preston, managing director at Heat Recruitment, said: “To be in contention for such a prestigious award is an achievement in itself. But to win is testament to the hard work that James and his team have consistently put in week after week.

“James’s success is mirrored by that enjoyed by the business as a whole during 2017. With continued growth and expansion combined with the recent launch of our new Engineering division and Heat becoming the first Recruitment agency in Bristol to be accredited for the Workplace Wellbeing Charter, this really has been a great year to date.”

Let’s not forget our very own MD being shortlisted for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2017 and Heat as Finalist for the second year running as Business of the Year …and we’re not finished yet!
