Community spotlight: Whitchurch Football Club
by Heat Recruitment
It’s the end of another season, time to celebrate your victories, learn from your defeats and take stock because after all, it’s only 15 Saturdays until the 2017 / 2018 season begins!
At Heat, we are committed to operating in a socially responsible manner and supporting local community projects and charitable causes.
As a company, Heat supports various charities throughout the year to help positively impact the most vulnerable people in the community; homeless and elderly people, children, refugees and people suffering mental and physical health problems.
We take our Corporate Social Responsibility very seriously as we love supporting and encouraging organizations and activities in our local community, this week we wanted to take a look at the work going on at Whitchurch Fooball Club ahead of their Open Day on Saturday 20th of May.
Founded in 1977, Whitchurch Sports JFC have been a linchpin in the community for decades, supported everyone from under 6’s to under 16’s, and with their recent popularity soaring, they have expanded to under 21’s and adult teams as well.
With a fantastic team of over 35 trained coaches giving up their free time to coach, train and welcome the community to join in and enjoy football, their impact has been seen by all member of the community.
Not only are their development groups for boys and girls, but there are also teams for children with learning difficulties and addition needs.
This culminated in the team winning Disability Team of the Year for supporting disabled children by getting them into sport.
“As a club we have continued to go from strength to strength & have consolidated our partnership with South Bristol Sports Centre at West Town Lane where our home fixtures are played…The clubs ambition has been & remains the same & that is look to develop young players to the best of their ability and encourage them to express themselves whilst enjoying the game and having fun.”
……the late Simon Browning, and former Whitchurch Sports JFC Chairman
We look forward to the Open Day on Saturday and wish everyone a successful 2017/2018 season, find out more about the team and how you can support them by clicking here.
