Associate – Commercial Litigation

Mid-Senior Level (5th- 7th Year Associate)
Salary Range: $300,000 – $350,000, plus bonus eligibility
We are currently seeking a highly competent mid-senior level Commercial Litigation Associate (5th – 7th year) to join our nationally recognized Commercial Litigation team in the New York office. This is a unique opportunity for a driven litigator to work on sophisticated, high stakes matters alongside some of the most respected attorneys in the field.
As a member of the Commercial Litigation Team, the successful candidate will work with some of the firm’s largest and most well-known national clients across a broad range of industries. You will handle complex litigation in an entrepreneurial, and supportive environment, ideal for advancing your legal career within a leading national law firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters, including:
- Business disputes (LLC, corporate, and partnership disputes)
- Real estate lending, financing, and leasing litigation
- Fiduciary and contract disputes
- Business torts, including fraud and breach of fiduciary duty
- Trade secret and noncompete litigation
- Shareholder derivative suits and commercial class actions
- Draft and argue motions, manage discovery, prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trials
- Conduct legal research and draft high-level written work product, including for civil cases involving the federal government
- Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams on litigation strategies
Qualifications Include:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in complex commercial litigation
- Excellent academic credentials; J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited law school
- Experience practicing in the following is advantageous:
- The Commercial Division of New York Supreme Court, New York County
- United States District Court for the Southern and/or Eastern Districts of New York
- Am Law 100 experience strongly preferred
- Trial experience is a strong plus
- Must be admitted to practice law in the State of New York
Ideal Candidates Will Demonstrate:
- Strong research, writing, oral advocacy, and discovery skills
- Ability to draft pleadings, motion papers, discovery requests, and settlement documents with minimal supervision
- Clear, persuasive communication and strong client service skills
