About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced Liability Loss Adjuster specialising in Major & Complex Risks to join our dynamic and growing team. This role is remote-based with travel as required for site visits and client meetings. The successful candidate will handle a diverse portfolio of high-value and complex liability claims, ensuring efficient and effective resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Claims Handling: Manage and investigate a portfolio of high-value, complex liability claims, including EL/PL, product liability, construction, environmental, and catastrophic injury claims.
- Investigation & Assessment: Conduct thorough liability investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and assess policy coverage.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with insurers, brokers, solicitors, corporate clients, and third parties to ensure effective claim resolution.
- Reporting & Documentation: Produce detailed technical reports, including liability assessments, quantum evaluations, and recommendations for settlement.
- Negotiation & Settlement: Engage in negotiation with claimants, legal representatives, and third parties to achieve fair and cost-effective claim resolutions.
- Litigation Support: Provide expert advice and support in litigated claims, including liaising with legal teams and attending court as required.
- Compliance & Best Practice: Ensure all claims are handled in line with FCA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in liability loss adjusting with exposure to major and complex risks.
- Strong knowledge of EL/PL, product liability, construction risks, environmental claims, and high-value injury claims.
- ACII or CILA qualification (or working towards) is preferred.
- Strong investigative, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed reports.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with flexibility to travel when required.
- Sound knowledge of UK liability claims law and regulation.
- Experience in dealing with corporate, insurer, and broker clients.
