Role Overview:
The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Residential Property team, managing a varied caseload that includes conveyancing transactions, sales, purchases, and re-mortgages. This role requires strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in residential property law and a proven ability to deliver exceptional administrative and legal assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting solicitors with the preparation and drafting of documents related to residential property transactions, including contracts, transfer deeds, and completion statements.
- Managing and organizing client files, ensuring that all documentation is accurately maintained and up-to-date.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, and other third parties to provide updates and address inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Conducting legal research to support the team’s activities.
- Assisting with the preparation of documents for submission to the Land Registry and mortgage lenders.
- Coordinating meetings and managing the team’s calendar.
- Supporting the conveyancing process from instruction to post-completion.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant within a Residential Property department is essential.
- Strong knowledge of the conveyancing process and residential property transactions.
- Proficiency in legal research and document management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
