Our client is a top 50 national law firm that are expanding their social housing team in Manchester due to an increase in new work. This firm pride themselves on delivering top-tier legal services with a focus on community impact. They are a leader in the social housing sector, dedicated to providing expert legal support to housing associations, local authorities, and tenants. They are now looking to expand their Manchester team with a passionate and experienced Social Housing Solicitor.
As a Social Housing Solicitor, you will play a pivotal role in their mission to support and protect the rights of those involved in the social housing sector. You will work on a diverse caseload that includes:
- Advising housing associations and local authorities on regulatory compliance.
- Handling cases involving tenancy agreements, evictions, and homelessness.
- Providing legal advice on housing management and policy development.
- Engaging in advocacy work to promote fair housing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and progress a varied caseload of social housing matters.
- Provide clear, practical, and concise legal advice to clients.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to social housing.
- Represent clients in court and tribunal hearings.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation and policy.
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse and busy caseload effectively.
- Experience in representing both landlords and tenants is desirable.
