Job Title: Junior IT Support

Location: Upper Mills Trading Estate, Stonehouse, GL10 2BJ

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day flexible working hours (08:00 to 18:30)

Salary: 18-20k


Impelus UK run consumer websites to collect data and provide marketing services to clients.  The performance of the websites and support from the technical team is important to the profitability of the company.


The technical department currently consists of 2 developers, one developer support and technical manager.

Due to a member of the team leaving, we have an opportunity for a candidate who is looking for a career in ICT to join the team. The chosen candidate will work closely with the Technical manager to support the rest of the office with IT Support. These requests vary from assistance within our internal administration system, to helping setup campaigns for new clients. There will also be plenty of opportunities to learn new skills which will benefit anyone looking to become one of the following:


  • Website developer
  • Database engineer
  • Data Analyst
  • Tester



Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Technical Manager you will be required to:


Ticket queue management

  • Complete allocated tickets from the service desk system in line with agreed SLAs
    • Detail and escalate any ticket which requires assistance from the development team
    • Ensure stakeholders are kept informed of progress

Data output to clients

  • Work with sales department and end client to supply data files using our internal system
  • Assist in monitoring quality across the business for all releases to clients

Internal Campaign setup

  • Assist with technical aspects of setting up campaigns on our websites for clients. Typically involves reading API documentation and configuring within our system to produce a test lead.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with investigating bugs raised to the development team
  • Assist in testing product changes and reporting defects back to the development team
    • Work with development team to test work and minimise the number of defects added into the system
  • Assist with gathering requirements from other internal departments and presenting to development team






Skills and Experience:

Although no prior experience is required, we are keen to find an individual with an interest in ICT, so any of the following skills are desirable

Required skills:

  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good standard of written and oral communication
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Some IT/Computing qualifications (GCSE, BTEC, A-Level) are preferable but not essential

Desirable skills:

  • Some knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Knowledge of EXCEL
