? Canterbury – Commercial / SME Account Handler

£27,000–£38,000 (depending on experience)
Full-time | Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm

Are you an experienced Commercial or SME Account Handler looking for a role where you can genuinely make an impact, be part of a supportive team, and build a long-term career?

Our Canterbury office is growing, and we’re looking for a driven, customer-focused Account Handler to join our friendly, collaborative team. This opening has come about due to internal movement, creating a fantastic opportunity to step into a well-established branch with an excellent reputation.

If you enjoy variety, thrive in a team environment, and want to develop further in the world of commercial insurance, we’d love to hear from you.

Why this role?

? A busy, thriving office environment where you’ll feel part of the team from day one
? A chance to work across a diverse portfolio of SME and commercial clients
? Exposure to a wide range of products including:
PO, PI, EL/PL, Fleet, Cyber, Commercial Combined, Contractors Combined, Motor Trade and more
? Manage cases ranging from smaller premiums to GWP of £50k+, offering challenge and progression
? A supportive leadership team that encourages development, CII study and internal progression

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years’ experience in SME/Commercial insurance within a brokerage

  • Confident handling a varied commercial book and nurturing client relationships

  • Comfortable negotiating with insurers and processing renewals, MTAs and queries

  • Acturis experience is an advantage, but not essential—training provided

  • Someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit office team

  • Enthusiasm to study or continue CII qualifications (fully supported and funded)

Working arrangements

This role is primarily office-based, especially during probation (5 days per week), to help ensure you’re fully supported and connected with the team.
We currently offer hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days WFH) after probation, though this model is under review—so we’re looking for someone who’s happy to spend regular time in the office.

What we offer

? 25 days holiday + bank holidays
? 4x Life Assurance (DIS)
? 3% employer pension contribution (5% employee)
? Perks at Work
? BHSF health & wellbeing benefits
? CII study funding and support
? Clear career progression opportunities
? Discretionary bonus schemes
