Remote or Stockport, frequent travel to clients is required.

£50,000 – £60,000 per annum + car allowance + 10% bonus

The Client:

I am working with an amiable Microsoft gold partner based in the north-west and Ireland, who are looking to hire an experienced Business Development Manager to join their successful and expanding team.

With over 20 years experience, my client has an ever-growing client list that ranges across a variety of industries, providing innovative and functionally rich business software solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven Sales Professional excited by the Microsoft Technology industry. Your role as Business Development Manager will revolve around ensuring the client has a significant presence promoting and delivering the Microsoft Technology stack outside of Dynamics 365 based solutions.

You will create working partnerships with the Product Management and Professional Sales teams to review, extend and deliver Cloud-focused solutions and products. Taking ownership of multiple campaigns, you will reach both existing and new customers to lead generation and promote your client, its solutions, and values within the sector and in the wider technology community. 

Alongside the Marketing Team you will ensure the external view is coordinated and consistent and you will engage with Sales to identify a competitive pricing model is defined.
Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, you will need to stay flexible and adapt to change positively, ensuring everything you do is in line with the business objectives.

Other responsibilities include:

•    Manage virtual bid teams in the production of quality documentation in response to formal proposals and evaluations.
•    Use D365 to track customer communication, issues and metrics and keep accurate and up-to-date records of client activities and opportunities in CRM whilst building, managing and maintaining a pipeline for Cloud Service offerings.
•    Deliver orders and revenue in line with agreed targets.
•    Contribute to the production of articles, blogs, websites, collateral, social media using experience and knowledge of current drivers in the marketplace gained in sales activities.

What is needed to be considered:

•    Microsoft Certifications.
•    Personable, adaptable, and flexible with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects, processes, programmes, and procedures simultaneously while working to meet deadlines, goals and deliver on initiatives.
•    Minimum of three years’ experience in a direct, personal quota-carrying, business development role.
•    Two to three years of experience in the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry.
•    Track record of delivery to revenue/margin targets.
•    Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Technology including Azure Services, Cloud Licensing and CSP.
•    Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to effectively operate independently or in a team environment.
•    Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
•    Highly competent MS Office skills, specifically with Excel and PowerPoint.
•    Highly self-motivated and directed. Positive and energetic demeanour – ‘can-do’ attitude.
•    Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
•    Exceptional customer service orientation.
•    Experience of the Not-for-Profit sector would be a distinct advantage.
•    Able to exercise independent judgment and problem-solve.
•    A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (including presentation skills). Be able to communicate effectively at multiple levels of an organisation from C-Level down.
•    Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills.
•    Creative with exceptional listening skills.
•    Strong organisational and planning skills.
