1st/2nd Line Support Technician – London (Hybrid)

A great opportunity for an experienced IT support professional to provide 1st and 2nd line technical support, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems across a dynamic business environment. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing the IT helpdesk, maintaining network systems, and assisting users with equipment and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support for desktops, systems, and software/hardware incidents.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, offering solutions and workarounds.
  • Manage and maintain the IT helpdesk.
  • Perform routine network maintenance.
  • Set up and manage user accounts and groups.
  • Configure, distribute, and administer company equipment for new and existing staff.
  • Install, maintain, and support new applications.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professionalism and strong communication with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed by senior management.

Experience & Education:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT support roles.
  • Basic understanding of the London Market (preferred).
  • A–C grade in IT-related A-Levels or equivalent qualifications.

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

Essential:

  • Windows 10/11 Pro – Administration & Support
  • Windows Server 2012–2019 – Administration & Support
  • Office 365 Exchange Management Console – Administration
  • Active Directory experience
  • Remote Desktop knowledge
  • Willingness to travel to other group sites

Desirable:

  • Helpdesk Management experience
  • Windows 8 Pro – Administration & Support
  • Network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, WAN/LAN)
  • iOS and Android OS setup & administration

Key Competencies:

  • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with staff and external suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills.
  • Proactive approach to IT improvements.
